We are delighted to welcome back Christina and Marcus, who have delighted audiences in Nairn on several occasions in the past. Christina memorably played at Gordon Macintyre's memorial concert which raised funds for our very successful outreach programme. Having studied at Chetham's, Trinity College, Cambridge and the Royal College of Music, she has been praised for her "astute intelligence and warmth of spirit" and has performed as soloist on BBC Radio 3 and Radio Scotland, with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, and in solo recitals for Wigmore Hall, Cheltenham Music Festival, Purcell Room, South Bank Centre, St. George's, Bristol and Perth Concert Hall.
Marcus has been co leader of the Britten Sinfonia since 2013 and principal 2nd violin with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra since 2016. In the past he has led the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the SCO and the Aurora Orchestra. He has also had a distinguished chamber music career, being a member of the Fitzwilliam Quartet for 7 years. As a composer he has written many sacred works for choir and organ, but also solo, chamber ensemble and ballet music.
