Formed at the Royal Academy of Music in 2019, the Clova Quartet is an exciting, young and innovative string quartet based in London. The quartet comprises four students currently at the Royal Academy – violinists Gabriel Bilbao Toledo and Rodrigo Checa Lorite, violist Edgar Francis and cellist Hugh Mackay. Their early development was through the National Youth Orchestras of the UK and Spain and their musical interests have a wide span, from historically-informed performance to contemporary repertoire, jazz to Latin music. Their outstanding performance at 'Music in Kinnordy' was the catalyst for an invitation to return for a short tour in Scotland and we're pleased to welcome them to Nairn for this evening's performance.
